Oil Painting
Every fall I am compelled to make an annal trek to follow the changing leaves of the aspen that adorn the mountains west of Evergreen. The landscapes of our Colorado Rockies shimmer with color this time of year, and I can't help but feel that this is why we live here. The majestic scenery of Western slope literally takes one's breath away and on my last fall trip up I found myself murmuring "wow," around every bend. This scene atop Independence pass has now become very familiar to me but it's a view I never tire of. There is no place to stop for photos but I taken have a dozen shots over the years from the car window, hoping to share with others the beauty of what is such a fleeting moment. Yet for a few days each year it is ever returning and there is constancy in that.
